Activities;

iv) Free medical camps providing reproductive health services to the for rural women of Faisalabad District Punjab province (Pakistan).and health facility for the children of these araes.

Child friendly school for street children;
In our area we are improving education starting simply by providing a teacher and a place to study or piece of chalk and a board on which to write.IRDP is running a child friendly school  named Yousaf Bawa foundation  in  Iben –e- Merriam Colony  St #6 Faisalabad. The target group have comprised of children belonging to socio-economic deprived groups, most disadvantage and from underserved community, street children, orphan, living in poverty, rural and minority children.

     

 

Free Mobile medical camps for rural women;
IRDP is also arranged  free mobile medical camps for rural and urban slum women to give reproductive medical  care and served them with medicines .These mobile medical team visited the villages and underserved areas  of Faisalabad district  and provide  Reproductive Health and family planning services to the villages through regular (after 15 days) camping services. For women, mohalla meetings have been designed to encourage open discussion of sensitive issues in a safe and conducive environment.
The following services provided by the mobile team
i) Family planning/birth spacing services.
ii) Antenatal care and postnatal care.
iii) Prevention of abortion and management of complication resulting from unsafe abortion.
iv) Prevention and treatment of reproductive tract infections and sexually transmitted infection including HIV/AIDS.

 

     

 

Teachers Training Programme;
The aims  of the project at enlightening the teachers on various aspects of child psychology, effective usage of innovative teaching & learning materials, and avoidance of teaching methods that disinterests the students and thus improve the quality of education imparted under  the Mission Girl Education projects across the Faisalabad district.
The Trained professional educators are provided  intensive and practical training to primary female teachers working in rural areas through on site workshops and workshops at different villages of Faisalabad district.
i)   In these workshops IRDP hold    on General Teaching Skills, Teaching & Learning through A/V Aids, Cooperative Learning Skills, and Teacher – Student Motivation. The workshops will focus on reading, writing, science and math teaching strategies. Participatory teaching methodology, schools and classroom management, lesson planning, production of low cost teaching aids, community participation, subject knowledge. Training for primary female teachers will be organized for each school and trained on its roles and responsibilities

     

 

Teaching mothers; (What programme will teach each mother. What diarrhea is and how it is transmitted. How to prepare the rehydration solution. What can go wrong if the quantities are not right (too much salt, too large a dose. When to consult a doctor.) 
IRDP is also conducted programmes for mother in whom we teach them how they can prepare the ORS and give their child ORS during diarrhea. The message is delivered to them how to treat the children during diarrhea. The treatment consists of a of how to prepare Nimkol (the solution of sugar and salt) given orally to replace both the water and electrolytes lost in diarrheal stools and will also explain the condition of the child  in which this solution will be given.
Breast-feeding is also promoted along with growth monitoring and ORT.Seminars and workshops have been conducted held to the mothers. In these seminars and workshops we have also explained them the breast feeding provides immunity which is transferred from mothers to breast-fed infants, and thus helps to protect them from malnutrition and infection, including diarrheal infections. Counseling for mothers and caretakers, Micronutrient supplements, management of severe malnutrition are major activities of their contrast; bottle-fed babies are more likely to be malnourished, to contract infections, and to die in the first year of life.

     

 

HIV/ADIS control programme.
IRDP is committed to aware the adolescents and women of rural areas about HIV/AIDS. We have arranged such programmes in rural and semi urban areas of Faisalabad District. These activities are still going on. IRDP arrange HIV/AIDS awareness programmes for adolescent’s girls. On candle light memorial (Global health council) at this occasion the AIDS awareness programmes have been conducted with adolescents girls and for young mothers in rural areas of Thesil Summandri (district Faisalabad).1 December  AIDS Day is also celebrated every year.

     

 

Girls coaching center;

Helping girls to get an education;

In rural areas of Pakistan, boys are three times more likely than girls to complete their primary education.Female literacy is just 35%. For men it is 61%. Parents who cannot afford to send all their children to school usually send the boys and keep the girls at home.
In this coaching center the girls who have completed the primary education, have drop out form the school due to any reasons they will have a chance to complete their metric standard education (Free) within three to five years.
we support projects to help girls and women get an education. One approach is focusing on innovative phonetic methods of teaching. This helps young women learn quickly so they can catch up on the education they missed.IRDP coaching centre is working from last 12  years. It is situated in Warispura St #10 Faisalabad.

     

 

Flood relief activity 2010; (Free mobile medical camps at flood and rain affected araes of District Jhang, Chinot and Faisalabad.
Flood affectees have given free medicines, treatment and consultation. IRDP has taken many initiatives to provide better quality social facilities in the form of medical and educational solutions to far flung villages of district Jhang and Faisalabad. During the mobile medical camps health services(prenatal and postnatal care ) has been provided to the pregnant women IRDP fully recognizes its corporate social responsibility role in the society and would continue to support initiatives meant for infrastructure uplift and welfare of people the way it did during floods to provide relief and rehabilitate flood affected areas.
